In the heart of Abruzzo, among the hills of the Navelli Plateau, one of the most precious and beloved products in the world is born: L’Aquila saffron DOP, also known as Italy’s red gold.

During this authentic experience, you will experience firsthand the stages of saffron harvesting and processing, from picking the flowers in the early morning hours to the husking and separation of the stigmas, through to drying—a ritual passed down through generations.

After the activity, a local lunch entirely dedicated to saffron awaits you, with a three-course menu where this royal ingredient becomes the protagonist in dishes that tell the history and tradition of the region. The meal includes water, wine, and coffee.
