Your experience

Enter the heart of Ravenna’s mosaic art, a World Heritage Site, with a hands-on experience in an authentic artisan workshop. Inspired by ancient art studios, the course will allow you to discover the techniques and materials of this thousand-year-old art, observing how tradition is continuously renewed.

Become a mosaicist for a day and create your own artwork in a practical and engaging journey. After a brief introduction to mosaic art, you can choose a Roman or Byzantine decorative motif to reproduce on cement mortar. You will immediately learn to handle the traditional tools of the trade, such as the mosaic hammer and hardie, to manually cut the tiles.

You will use precious materials like marble, Venetian smalti, and gold tiles, participating in all stages of creation: from spreading the mortar to creating the grid, up to completing the mosaic (10×10 cm format).

At the end of the workshop, you will take home a unique memory of Ravenna, a true masterpiece created entirely with your own hands, perfect as a souvenir and testament to your experience in mosaic art.

➡️ In case of delay by participants, participation in the tour is not guaranteed and no refund will be provided.
➡️ Dogs are allowed, provided they are kept on a leash and muzzled, in compliance with current regulations and other participants. We recommend bringing a blanket or a bed for the dog.
➡️ This tour runs regularly even in case of rain. In case of bad weather, the best possible alternative for the group will be evaluated. No refunds are provided for those who choose not to participate in the proposed alternative.
