A short distance from the medieval village of Gerace, immersed in the greenery of the Calabrian hills, an authentic experience awaits you dedicated to those who love nature, the rhythms of the countryside, and the true flavors of tradition. This two-hour guided tour, followed by a typical regenerating lunch, will open the doors of an excellent estate, where the passion for the land translates into organic products with a short supply chain.
The journey begins in the company’s oil mill, where you will discover the secrets of the production process that transforms olives into the prized local extra virgin olive oil. It then continues towards the dairy, the beating heart of dairy production: here you will learn cheese processing techniques and, depending on the day’s schedule, you might have the extraordinary opportunity to witness the live stretching of caciocavallo, an artisanal ritual of rare beauty. The tour continues among the estate’s farms, where you can see the life of the animals and the industrious world of bees up close.
To best celebrate the day, the experience culminates with a typical Calabrian lunch served outdoors, surrounded by the nature of the estate. The feast opens with a rich house appetizer served on a large central tray to share, a true triumph of warm fritters, artisanal oil-preserved and pickled vegetables, traditional cold cuts, and local cheeses. Following this, you can enjoy a traditional Calabrian first course, seasoned with your choice of typical options such as meat sauce, chickpeas, or traditional meatballs. Everything will be accompanied by excellent local wine and water included.
